Each year, the Idaho State Elks Association proudly participates in the Elks National Dictionary Project, delivering free dictionaries to third-grade students across the state. This simple yet powerful gesture helps build vocabulary, reading skills, and a love of learning at a critical stage in a child’s education. For many students, it is the first book they can call their own, an experience that leaves a lasting impression and strengthens their academic foundation.
Thanks to the dedication of our local lodges and volunteers, the Idaho Elks reach thousands of students in communities large and small, ensuring no school is too remote or underserved. The impact is measurable, not only in the number of dictionaries delivered but in the smiles, thank-you notes, and improved literacy skills that follow.
Lodge Dictionary Chairpersons: Please fill out the form below to file your final report on the project. Thank you for your participation!
